Who we are

Here at Red Jasper Farm & Sanctuary, we’re more than just a safe haven for animals — we are a living mission. We believe farmers are everyday heroes, yet we recognize that today’s industrial farming system must be reimagined. Our vision calls for a return to small-scale, sustainable agriculture rooted in respect for ancient, time-honored practices that worked in harmony with the land, the seasons, and all living beings.

We are committed to cultivating a kinder, more compassionate approach to agriculture — one that honors the dignity of humans, the wellbeing of animals, and the health of the planet. We personally choose not to consume mammals and birds. However, we respect that within sustainable and small-scale systems, responsible and minimal harvesting can serve a role in maintaining herd health, preserving genetic diversity, and supporting ecological balance. Practices that have long been part of traditional farming wisdom.

Through sharing the stories of our land, our residents, and their interconnected roles, we hope to inspire a revival of holistic, ethical farming where nature and community thrive together. Our work supports vital pollinators, nurtures the emotional wellbeing of all creatures — human and not — and seeks to preserve the deep wisdom of traditional, sustainable methods. By leading through example, we aim to show how ethical farming can flourish while respecting the rhythms of the earth.

Through the sale of vegetarian, cruelty-free products from our farm, along with the generosity of donors, we sustain both our mission and our residents. Welcome to Red Jasper Farm & Sanctuary, where ancient wisdom meets modern compassion, and where we cultivate what we call “kindfarming” — a way of life that feeds the body, heart, and soil.
