March eNewsletter

Welcome to our monthly eNewsletter! Here, we share all of our sanctuary news, goals and more. Here are some things that happened last month, as well as things that we hope for for the future.

  • On February 14, we started our Substack and made our first post: Happy Gotcha Day Tina! to celebrate the little cat who stole our hearts. Then, we told you the story of Izzie the pug, a small canine who left a big impact on all of us. And to wrap up February, we told you about how chickens can be great therapy animals! February was great , and we look forward to what March holds in store.

  • We are currently working on merchandise designs such as tote bags, T-shirts, mugs, water bottles, possibly even plushies and coloring books! We hope the store will be done soon, but by the looks of it, it will probably be coming later in the year.

  • Another goal of ours is to create new animal enclosures. We are thinking of starting a fundraiser to help create summer pens for our goats, as well as a few pens in case of fires and emergency rescues. As fires get to be more and more of a problem in Byers and the surrounding areas, we need to be more prepared to rescue animals that may be in harm’s way. We don’t really have a “fire season” anymore, these blazes happen year round- the last two only being a few days ago on March 2nd.

  • But something else happened on March 2nd, something much happier… Sandy the dog turned eight! While she’s not a rescue, she’s still a wonderful member of our group. She’s a very sweet and caring canine, always looking out for her family, but not afraid to keep them in line! Earning her the nickname Momma Bear. She spent the day lounging around outside, got a special dinner, and got lots of scratches behind the ears. Happy birthday Sandy girl! We’re glad you live at Red Jasper, even if you’re not a rescue.
