Though she’s never had pups, Sandy loves taking care of everyone on the farm. Ever since she was a pup herself she was always taking care of someone, giving her the nicknames “Nanny Sandy” and “Momma Bear”. Her care of her friends has been quite evident over the years. Like when she tried to say hi to Chompy Mom’s lambs. Poor Sandy just wanted to say hi to the new little lamb, but Chompy didn’t like that idea! Poor Sandy got quite a headbutt.
While Sandy wasn’t very gentle with Tina when she first arrived, it showed how she loves to protect her family. She never likes attacking anything, but was willing to protect us if needed. Thankfully Sandy was smart enough to realize that Tina was not a threat. Sandy also was sweet and gentle with Tina's kittens. She always loves it when a new baby is born on the farm. Thankfully Tina was more chill with Sandy than Chompy was, although her kittens weren’t. The kitties were hissing at Sandy before their eyes were even open! Sandy wasn’t very offended by it though, if anything she seemed pretty amused by the miniature mousers trying to take her on.
Sandy gently says hello to Turtle
Not long ago, we introduced her to Caramel’s kids. She was so happy to see new babies of the farm finally! The first ones born in our barn for almost six years. Sweet Nanny Sandy is always gentle with babies, she comes up and sniffs them sweetly, and leaves them alone. She’s not too rough, just gives them a little hello.
“Nanny Sandy” sure is a sweet gal. She keeps everyone in line, but is also very loving and good natured. Happy Mother’s day Sandy, even though you’ve never had pups, you’re the farm’s Momma Bear!
