Mayan

Mayan sniffs a lamb

We got Mayan and his brother Kevin from a lady who was moving and unfortunately couldn’t bring her two tom cats. She thought she’d easily be able to find a home for the sweet cats, but no one came forward since they were not neutered. We had seen her posts but we figured someone would take them, and we really weren’t looking for cats at the time. The day before the lady moves she sent out a frantic plea, so we picked them up and brought them home with us.

At first, they hated us. They didn’t like their new environment and they’d scream and spit if they saw us. We were worried we’d have to rehome them, so after two months and several failed attempts, we caught them and transported them to the vet to get neutered.

Once we brought them back home, they were absolute angels! Why? We still don’t know- maybe they just decided we were better than the vet. But all the sudden they started letting us pet and even cuddle them! Mayan started coming and sitting on our laps while we watched TV, something which he still does obsessively, and cuddling with us at night, almost like a little teddy bear. The two now live in the house and are enjoying getting cuddles and showing the dogs who’s boss.
