Caramel is an incredibly sweet goat and great dam. But she’s had a bit of a hard life.

She and her twin sister Butterscotch were born here on the farm from a doe we purchased named Bellatrix- whom we dubbed Raisin, due to her head’s resemblance to one. Once the kids were grown, we sold “Raisin” as well as Richard and Goggles’ dam Vienna.

Unfortunately, Butterscotch passed away, leaving Caramel alone and devastated. It left all of us devastated. We buried her on the farm and brought Caramel to attend her funeral. She cried for weeks, even though she saw Butterscotch had passed, she didn’t seem to understand she wasn’t coming back. We had to go out and brush her as well as give her cookies regularly. Though they fought often, they truly had a bond.

More recently, we bred her with Richard and she had twin doelings named Pavlova and Turtle. She’s an excellent mother and seems to enjoy living with company again.
